N. Lokesh, the Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics in Andhra Pradesh, has unveiled an ambitious vision to transform the state's educational framework into a national benchmark. By implementing comprehensive reforms, the government aims to establish the AP education system as a role model for the rest of India, prioritizing academic excellence and modern infrastructure.
The Minister highlighted these objectives while inaugurating a newly constructed building for the Zilla Parishad High School in Kokkiligadda village, located within the Mopidevi mandal of the Krishna district. The project, valued at ₹1.4 crore, was realized through the P4 scheme with significant contributions from donors. During the event, N. Lokesh emphasized the necessity of a collaborative approach involving teachers, parents, and administrative officials to achieve these educational milestones.
Transforming the AP Education System
Over the past two years, the state administration has prioritized structural and systemic reforms to enhance the quality of learning. Development efforts have centered on upgrading basic amenities and physical infrastructure in schools. However, N. Lokesh noted that the focus must now shift toward improving tangible learning outcomes. To ensure students reach their full potential, the government is emphasizing the regular assessment of learning capabilities through formative and summative testing.
A key component of this initiative includes the provision of bridge course materials for students who require additional support. Teachers have been urged to provide targeted coaching in subjects where pupils may be struggling to ensure they achieve exceptional results. To streamline communication and operational efficiency, educators have been encouraged to utilize the LEAP app for addressing daily administrative challenges, reducing the need to approach MEOs and DEOs directly.
Furthermore, to foster greater transparency and community involvement, state-level parent-teacher meetings are scheduled for July 16, 17, and 18. Teachers are tasked with helping parents navigate the LEAP app, ensuring that all stakeholders remain aligned with the government's vision. N. Lokesh humorously remarked that the performance of the education department would be closely monitored by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, underscoring the high stakes involved in these systemic improvements.
Following the formal proceedings at the school, the Minister visited the Subramanyeswara Swamy Temple in Mopidevi to offer prayers. This visit concluded a day dedicated to reinforcing the commitment toward a robust and future-ready AP education system.
