The minister’s remarks came during the Olympic Day Run 2026, an event hosted at the Government High School grounds in Mulugu. The initiative was organized through the collaborative efforts of the International Olympic Committee, the Indian Olympic Association, and the Telangana Olympic Association. To address the infrastructure hurdles faced by these promising Mulugu athletes, the government has sanctioned a budget of Rs 4 crore for the construction of a dedicated athletics stadium. This facility aims to provide better training grounds and foster grassroots talent, with the government promising further infrastructure development based on future needs.
The event was attended by several notable officials, including Superintendent of Police Sudhir Ramnath Kekan, Library Organisation Chairman Banoth Ravichander, District Educational Officer Siddharth Reddy, and DSP Ravinder, alongside various physical directors and athletics association members.
Tribal Scholar Gains National Recognition
In related news concerning academic and social progress, Ramavath Munilal, a research scholar from the English and Foreign Languages University (Eflu), recently gained national attention. A second-year PhD student in Media and Communication, Munilal, who hails from a tribal hamlet, had the distinct opportunity to interact with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
This engagement took place as part of the Janajatiya Garima Utsav and the Birsa Lives in New Bharat Week celebrations organized by the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs. For Munilal, the experience was profoundly transformative. He noted that such initiatives serve as a vital catalyst, encouraging students from marginalized tribal communities to pursue higher education, leadership roles, and a dedicated path toward public service. The university highlighted that this milestone reinforces the critical importance of identity and representation, inspiring young tribal scholars to strive for academic excellence while contributing to the nation’s overall development.
