The investigation into the attack on businessman Shambhu Agrawal has been moving rapidly. Following the incident, which reportedly occurred on a Tuesday while the victim was driving, police had already secured the detention of two other suspects, Santosh Rana and Shubham Rana. Officials have highlighted that the assault was allegedly motivated by a business dispute involving land, during which the perpetrators attempted to extort 30,000 rupees from the businessman.
Understanding the Criminal Network Behind the Assault
According to insights provided by the Titlagarh Police, the Titilagarh businessman assault case is deeply linked to an organized criminal syndicate. Investigators have identified Alok Dash as a notorious figure, previously named as the prime accused in the 2013 Abhimanyu Sahu murder case. Authorities allege that Dash continued to coordinate criminal operations and exert influence over his associates even while out on conditional bail.
Superintendent of Police Abhilash G confirmed that the department has filed a case under Section 109 of the BNS for attempt to murder, registered as FIR No. 212/26 at the Titlagarh Police Station. The investigation revealed that Santosh Rana, who was also implicated in the 2013 murder case, had resumed his criminal activities shortly after his release from a 12-year prison term. Police suspect he was actively working within Dash’s syndicate.
Law enforcement officials are now focusing on dismantling the entire network associated with these individuals. In addition to current charges, authorities have signaled their intent to pursue rigorous legal action against the accused for violating bail conditions, particularly given their histories of involvement in serious criminal offenses. The police are continuing efforts to track down any other individuals who may have played a role in the planning or execution of this crime.
