LSG won the toss and opted to bowl first. The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) struggled initially, losing three wickets in the Powerplay and managing only 35 runs in the opening ten overs. A 100+ run partnership between Nitish Reddy and Heinrich Klaasen steadied SRH, with Klaasen scoring 62 while Reddy contributed 56.
