International Experts Pleased with Progress at Polavaram Project

Kakinada: An international team of experts, led by Sean Hinchberger, inspected the Polavaram irrigation project construction site and expressed satisfaction with its progress. The evaluation highlighted that the works are being carried out according to plan within timelines without compromising on quality standards.
The visiting group consists of officials from the State Water Resources Department and experts from the Central Soil and Materials Research Station (CSMRS). Their field inspection included a thorough check of the earth-cum-rock fill dam construction, diaphragm walls, and other critical components of the project. These checks ensured that moisture content, soil strength, stability, and other essential structural properties align with future construction requirements.
Polavaram Project's Progress
The inspection, which is a part of a three-day visit, included detailed assessments by both the expert team and the CSMRS group. They found that 14 tests were conducted in the Gap-2 region to scrutinize moisture content, soil strength, rock material quality, and other pertinent structural properties.
The project's timely progress and adherence to high-quality standards are crucial for ensuring sustainable water management and agricultural productivity in the region.
