Travelling on Indian Railways is about to be an even more enjoyable and hygienic experience with the introduction of a revolutionary 'on-board' cleaning system. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has announced that professional cleaning teams will now be deployed throughout long-distance train journeys, ensuring passengers no longer have to wait for trains to stop at major stations.

The new scheme not only covers AC and sleeper coaches but also includes general class coaches. Trained professionals teams will clean the coaches every hour or when needed based on peak and non-peak hours. Special technology-based War Rooms will oversee this system in real-time, allowing direct feedback from passengers to be received regarding cleanliness issues.

Furthermore, underutilized warehouses on railway land are being transformed into Gati Shakti Cargo Terminals for both passenger amenities and freight management. The streamlined process for converting sidings and private terminals has significantly reduced the time needed for these upgrades in the rail division manager's decision-making responsibilities.
