A shocking murder investigation has been launched in Hyderabad after an initial report of a suicide was debunked by forensic evidence. Authorities in LB Nagar are now treating the case as a calculated homicide, which has resulted in the arrest of the victim’s wife. The incident, which occurred on June 20, has left the local community in NTR Nagar stunned as details of the staged crime surface.

Staged Crime Exposed by Forensic Evidence

The tragedy began when local law enforcement received a distress call via the Dial-100 service, reporting that a man had been found dead in his rented residence. Initially, officers registered a case of suspicious death, as the scene was carefully arranged to mimic a self-inflicted act. However, Inspector K. Vinod Kumar noted that the circumstances surrounding the death raised immediate concerns that warranted a more thorough investigation.

The victim’s body was subsequently transported to Osmania General Hospital for an official postmortem examination. The medical results were conclusive, definitively ruling out death by hanging and confirming that the cause of death was strangulation. These findings directly contradicted the account provided by the victim's wife, prompting police to shift their focus toward a full-scale murder investigation.

Confession and Arrest in Hyderabad

Upon intense questioning by investigators, the 33-year-old wife eventually broke down and confessed to the crime. According to reports from the LB Nagar police, the woman admitted that she had been involved in an extramarital affair and frequently engaged in heated disputes with her husband. The argument on June 20 escalated quickly, leading her to overpower her spouse, sit on his chest, and eventually strangle him using a white chunni.

In a desperate attempt to cover her tracks, she then tied the victim's body to an iron cot using the same piece of cloth, attempting to frame the incident as a suicide. Law enforcement officers later apprehended the suspect near Alkapuri. During the arrest, police seized the chunni used in the crime and a mobile phone that she had used to contact her partner shortly after the incident took place. The suspect has been remanded to judicial custody, while authorities continue to investigate if any other individuals played a role in the planning or execution of the act.
