HDFC Bank UPI Cash Withdrawals Integration Changes Plan Ahead
HDFC Bank has announced changes to its ATM withdrawal policies for both UPI cash withdrawals and debit card transactions, effective April 1st, 2026. This will increase charges for exceeding the free withdrawal limit and is part of the bank's strategy to make ATM services more inclusive.

HDFC Bank has announced significant changes to its ATM withdrawal policies, effective from April 1st, 2026. This includes the inclusion of UPI cash withdrawals in the monthly free ATM transaction limit, formerly only for debit card transactions.
The introduction of this change affects both savings and salary account holders, offering them a five free ATM withdrawal per month. However, exceeding this limit will incur a fee of Rs 23 plus applicable taxes.
Additionally, UPI cash withdrawals will be counted towards this same limit, starting April 1st, 2026. Customers can withdraw cash cardlessly using UPI apps like PayZapp, BHIM, PhonePe, Paytm, and GPay, with charges levied for any withdrawals exceeding the limit.
