Haryana's Chief Minister, Nayab Singh Saini, took swift action by directly transferring funds into the accounts of thousands of farmers and other beneficiaries via various government schemes. This move follows nationwide appeals for relief from the 22nd installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, a program meant to support agricultural workers.
Over Rs 711.69 billion (Rs 711.69 billion) was disbursed to 167,460 farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, providing compensation for crops affected during the Kharif 2025 harvest season. This amount highlights the Haryana government's commitment to its farmers in times of need.
The Chief Minister also transferred approximately Rs 56.97 million to the accounts of 11,199 commission agents acting as middle men in the agricultural procurement process. This gesture not only assists these agents but also supports agriculture supply chains, ensuring a smooth supply of produce.
Alongside farmers and commission agents, the government has also allocated significant resources to social security schemes. A total of Rs 842.92 billion (Rs 842.92 billion) was distributed to 2.612 million beneficiaries, including old-age pensions, disability pensions, and various social pension schemes. This includes assistance for house construction under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin).
These measures reflect the Haryana government's proactive approach to addressing the needs of its citizens, especially in agricultural sectors where consistent support can be instrumental in weathering economic and weather-related challenges.
