According to reports from local law enforcement, the primary suspects in this Bengaluru murder case are the victim's 49-year-old daughter, Bhagyalakshmi, and her 26-year-old son, Kushal. Police officials stated that the elderly woman was struck with a cricket bat and a wooden stick after she repeatedly objected to the pair's habit of consuming alcohol within their residence. When authorities arrived at the crime scene, they discovered the victim lying near the bathroom in the apartment’s living area.
The situation had reportedly been brewing for several months. A neighbor and resident of the same apartment, Dhananjay, filed a formal complaint that led to the registration of a case under sections 103(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. In his statement, Dhananjay explained that Bhagyalakshmi and Kushal had been frequently creating disturbances in the building due to their drinking habits over the past few months.
The disturbance had become so severe that other residents had previously intervened by contacting the husband of the accused, Krishna Naik. Together, they had even arranged for Kushal to be admitted to a rehabilitation center in an attempt to curb the behavior.
