Annamayya District Receives ₹3,526 Crore Through Major Welfare Schemes Over Two Years

Recent government assessments have revealed that Annamayya district has received over ₹3,526 crore through various welfare schemes over the past two years. This significant financial allocation highlights the administration's ongoing focus on supporting regional development while simultaneously advancing welfare initiatives. The progress of these welfare schemes was officially celebrated during a district-level program in Madanapalle.
Impact of Welfare and Development Initiatives
During the event, District In-charge Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy emphasized that the government, led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, is committed to balancing essential social welfare with robust infrastructure growth. A centerpiece of this development strategy is the Jaladhara program. This initiative has been instrumental in groundwater recharge and the restoration of local water bodies, which has directly contributed to a nearly 50 per cent increase in cultivation across several regions in the district.
Transport Minister M. Ramprasad Reddy noted that Andhra Pradesh is witnessing a surge in investor interest, which is driving significant infrastructure expansion and facilitating the development of Amaravati. These efforts are expected to create long-term employment opportunities and foster sustainable industrial growth throughout the state.
Detailed Distribution of Benefits
District Collector Nishant Kumar provided a comprehensive overview of how these welfare schemes have impacted the local population. Significant financial support has been funneled into agricultural assistance, education, and public transport subsidies. For instance, the Annadata Sukhibhava program disbursed ₹339 crore to approximately 1.70 lakh farmers, while the Talliki Vandanam initiative provided ₹218 crore to 1.68 lakh beneficiaries. Additionally, the Deepam scheme offered financial assistance worth ₹90 crore to over 15.67 lakh individuals.
The state's commitment to public welfare is also reflected in support for transport and pensions. The free bus travel scheme for women resulted in an expenditure of ₹127 crore covering 328 lakh journeys. Furthermore, auto drivers received financial assistance totaling ₹10 crore, and 6.26 lakh individuals benefited from the NTR Bharosa pension program, which distributed ₹2,238 crore. These figures underscore a concerted effort to enhance the quality of life for the residents of Annamayya. The event, attended by local representatives including MLAs Shahjahan Basha and Nallari Kishore Kumar Reddy, served to showcase the tangible results of these ongoing administrative efforts.
