The 22-year-old performer was found dead at her residence in the Nalasopara area of Mumbai in an alleged case of suicide on Monday, June 14. This shocking event has prompted the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) to formally request a high-level investigation into the circumstances surrounding her untimely passing.
Sanchita Ugale, a recognized face in the television industry, had appeared in popular serials such as Kumkum Bhagya and Wagle Ki Duniya. As her career was gaining momentum, the news of her death has left colleagues and fans in disbelief. Demands for Investigation into Sanchita Ugale Death Case
The AICWA statement highlights that Sanchita Ugale was a talented artist with a promising future, having worked on various notable projects including Chhaava (2025) and Silence: The Night Owl Bar Shootout (2024). Expressing concern over the increasing frequency of similar incidents within the entertainment sector, the union is calling for a comprehensive examination of all possible angles. They emphasize that previous cases often left families and the public with unanswered questions, and they are pushing for a dedicated committee to address the mental health and security concerns currently affecting artists in the industry.
According to reports from the Achole Police Station, the incident occurred between 7:00 pm and 7:30 pm on June 14 at the Sai Santoshi Building in Achole village. It is alleged that the actress locked her bedroom from the inside and was later found by family members, who rushed her to the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation Hospital. Despite their efforts, medical professionals confirmed she had passed away. API Vinod Bagh confirmed that on June 15, based on a formal complaint filed by her father, Machinda Ugale, local police registered a case of accidental death under Section 194 of the Indian Civil Services Code (BNSS).
The AICWA also noted that the actress had posted a video to her Instagram story featuring the song 'Dapli Wale Dapli Baja' just hours before the incident, which has added to the confusion surrounding the tragic event. As the investigation proceeds, the industry remains in mourning, standing in solidarity with the family of the deceased during this deeply difficult period.
