New Delhi: The Aadhaar card, a vital proof of identity in India, can now be downloaded via WhatsApp, making the process quicker and more convenient.
Traditionally, Aadhaar card downloads were cumbersome, requiring visits to official websites or government portals. However, with the introduction of this new method, individuals can now download their Aadhaar card directly from WhatsApp. This development not only simplifies the download process but also cuts down the effort required by eliminating the need to visit multiple websites or sign up for accounts separately.
To download your Aadhaar card via WhatsApp, you need to save a specific number as your primary contact in your phone's address book. Once saved, you can contact this number on WhatsApp and provide a simple response ('Namaste' or 'Hi').
The system prompts you to choose the DigiLocker option, indicating you wish to access digital documents like the Aadhaar card. Next, you need to link your DigiLocker account with your Aadhaar. The account creation process involves verifying your mobile number and entering your 12-digit Aadhaar number. After successful account creation, you'll receive a One Time Password (OTP) via a secure route (usually SMS or WhatsApp). Following OTP verification, you'll be given a list of previously uploaded documents including your Aadhaar card, which can be selected to be downloaded.
