The upcoming Volkswagen ID Polo EV, also known as the ID.2all, is set to make a splash in the Indian market with its sleek design and impressive range. Scheduled for a global debut in May 2026, this electric hatchback promises to be both affordable and packed with features that rival those of models from Tesla and Hyundai.
Design and Stunning Looks
The leaking images reveal that the ID Polo EV closely follows its concept model. With slim LED headlights, a prominent VW logo, and hidden rear door handles on the C-pillar, it exudes both a modern and retro aesthetic. This design not only adds a sporty edge but also contributes to its aerodynamics and range.
Compared to the older Polo model, which had a compact 4-meter length, the new ID Polo EV measures in at an impressive 4,053 mm long, making it significantly larger. The robust 2,600 mm wheelbase ensures ample legroom and comfort for passengers, while its height of 1,530 mm gives it a commanding appearance.
Interior and Retro Mode
Volkswagen has completely reimagined the interior space with a state-of-the-art 13-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital driver display. The removal of touch controls in favor of physical buttons enhances both functionality and safety at high speeds. Additionally, there's a nostalgic 'Retro Mode' option that transforms the dashboard into a magical screen, mimicking the classic meters and cassette player from older Volkswagen models.
Battery, Range, and Sporty GTI Avatar
The ID Polo EV is built on Volkswagen's MEB+ platform and offers customers two battery options: a 38 kWh pack for efficiency or a more powerful 56 kWh pack capable of 451 kilometers of driving range. With fast-charging capabilities, it can be fully charged in a surprisingly short time via DC charging.
The electric hatchback also comes with a sporty GTI variant, featuring a honeycomb grille and bold red stripes, delivering an impressive output of 226 hp, appealing to customers looking for both style and performance in the electric segment.
