As gold prices have seen a rise in the Indian bullion market, silver rates remain stable. Despite expectations of silver's price to drop, it now appears unlikely that this scenario will come to pass at least not immediately.

Silver Prices Across Major Cities

In Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, 999-purity silver was recorded selling for ₹254,900 per kilogram. The rate for a mere 100 grams stands at ₹25,490.

Mumbai's rates follow close behind with 999-purity silver priced at ₹249,900 per kilogram and 100 grams going for ₹24,990. New Delhi and Kolkata present similar scenes. Here too, the price for 999-purity silver hovers around ₹25,000 per kilometro in smaller units.

Bangalore, also known as Bengaluru, maintains a rate of ₹24,990 per 100 grams, with 1 kilogram priced at ₹249,900. In Hyderabad and Kerala, the gold content is priced similarly to the rest, standing at ₹25,490 for 100 grams and ₹254,900 for a kilogram.

In Pune, prices are in line with others, trading at ₹24,990 per 100 grams, and totaling ₹249,900 per one kilogram. Overall, silver rates continue to remain stable around the ₹2.50 lakh per kilogram mark.

It's important to note that prices have not seen significant fluctuations recently, remaining steady within this range since April 1, 2026 when the price was about ₹255,000 per kilogram.

A notable observation is that today—April 8—the average silver rate is approximately ₹249,000 per kilogram, roughly ₹6,000 lower than on April 1. Prices are thus slightly cheaper now compared to the previous week.
