Vijay Mallya's Emotional Post

During RCB's formative years, Mallya acquired the team in 2008 for ₹450 crore. His investment has grown exponentially over the years. Upon its new ownership, he wrote on his 'X' (formerly Twitter) handle: "I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to the new owners of RCB. I wish them the very best for the future and great success with what has become the most valuable IPL franchise." He further elaborated, noting how the initial acquisition faced skepticism but now brought immense joy as his investment grew to ₹16,500 crore.

Mallya also shared a touching sentiment, expressing: "RCB will always hold a special place in my heart, a journey that includes the selection of young Virat Kohli who stands today as one of the world's finest players. My heartfelt thanks go out to all the fans associated with RCB, both during my tenure and thereafter; please continue to support the 'Lions of Bengaluru'—RCB. Namaskar."
