On the horizon of aviation development in India stands a significant milestone. The Noida International Airport is set to inaugurate on March 28, 2026, marking India's progress towards enhanced air connectivity.
The 3900-meter-long runway will accommodate state-of-the-art technology such as Instrument Landing System CAT-III (ILS). This revolutionary system enables safe landings even in heavy fog and rain. Pilots can navigate safely based on instrument guidance, a capability presently only available at major airports like Indira Gandhi International and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
With this new airport, passengers will soon have access to three major airlines operating flights: IndiGo, Akasa Air, and Air India Express. These airlines are expected to offer improved options for both domestic and international travel.
Noida International Airport's Capabilities
The airport will facilitate 30 parallel flights every hour, significantly enhancing air traffic management efficiency. In the first phase, it aims to handle 12 million passengers annually and is designed for expansion up to a potential 70 million per year. Its modern navigation systems and day-and-night lighting capabilities support all-weather operations year-round.
Lying near the Yamuna Expressway, Noida Airport integrates well with other transport modes. Being a multi-modal transport hub, it offers excellent connectivity via road, rail, metro, and regional transportation services. Moreover, it adheres to green building practices, striving for net-zero emission goals.
The opening of the Noida International Airport is expected to ease travel burdens significantly, particularly in the region surrounding Delhi-NCR. It will provide a critical gateway for businesses and travelers seeking faster and more convenient connections.
