A Western Disturbance is set to continue disrupting weather patterns across various regions in India, prompting strong warnings from the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Farmers are bracing for further damage as unseasonal rains and hailstorms affect Rabi crops in several states.

Significant Weather Warnings Issued by IMD

The IMD has issued heavy rainfall and thunderstorm alerts for several key areas within India. These warnings remain particularly relevant for Rajasthan, Bihar, Delhi-NCR, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and parts of Uttar Pradesh.

Rainfall Alert for Rajasthan:

Until March 30, the Western Disturbance is expected to persist in Rajasthan, causing thunderstorms and rain, especially in the Jodhpur, Bikaner, and Shekhawati regions on March 28. Light to moderate rainfall is predicted over the following days for areas within the divisions of Jodhpur, Bikaner, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Udaipur, and Kota. Winds gusting up to 50 kilometers per hour are also prevalent.

Severe Thunderstorms in Bihar:

Forty-eight districts in Bihar have been alerted for thunderstorms, rain, and lightning strikes. Thirteen of these areas have activated an Orange Alert level, with the remaining 35 under a Yellow Alert, urging residents to remain vigilant during severe weather conditions.

Simultaneously, New Delhi and Noida are also facing the possibility of rain combined with thunderstorms today. The IMD has issued a Yellow Alert, advising caution for all areas except the North-West, North, and North-East sectors of the city.

Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh Expect Heavy Rainfall

The Western Disturbance is also playing havoc with weather conditions in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. IMD has issued a Yellow Alert for 38 districts in UP and warned of severe storms and rainfall amid gusty winds. Additionally, there is an expected relief from afternoon heat as the Western Disturbance brings rains to central and southern parts of Chhattisgarh, with wind speeds reaching 40-50 km/h.

Districts like Bhind, Datia, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, and Panna are on high alert for heavy rainfall and potential hailstorms. Farmers in the region are preparing for a challenging harvest season as these meteorological events continue to unfold across India.
