K.T. Rama Rao, the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has issued clear instructions to party representatives regarding the upcoming Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. During a training session held in Neredigonda, he emphasized that the integrity of these electoral lists is vital for the party's future success in local body, parliamentary, and state assembly elections.
The BRS leader urged all BLA-2 agents to remain vigilant throughout the revision process, which is set to commence on June 25. He stressed the importance of verifying the voter list thoroughly, ensuring that the details of existing party supporters remain accurate while simultaneously focusing on the registration of new voters. A particular emphasis was placed on family mapping to strengthen the party's ground-level support base.
Focus on Electoral Integrity and Farmer Welfare
During the same visit, K.T. Rama Rao highlighted concerns regarding government agricultural policies. He visited Ponna village to express his condolences to the family of Pandurang, a local farmer who allegedly died by suicide after failing to sell his jowar crop at the Sirikonda market yard in the Boath Assembly constituency.
Accompanied by local MLA Anil Jadhav and other party officials, Rama Rao provided ₹3 lakh in financial assistance to the grieving family. He further demanded that the state government provide an additional ₹25 lakh as ex gratia and secure a government job for the family of the deceased. The BRS leadership strongly criticized Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, alleging widespread failures in the procurement of paddy, jowar, and maize.
Rama Rao contrasted the current situation with the previous BRS administration's efforts, noting that in 2021, the government had successfully managed 8,500 procurement centers, eventually procuring 92 lakh metric tonnes of paddy by 2022. He accused the state government of neglecting its promise to provide a ₹500 bonus for fine-quality paddy, leaving farmers in deep distress. Additionally, he challenged the state's BJP Members of Parliament to address the ongoing procurement issues with the central government. Emphasizing the need for support, he urged farmers to avoid taking extreme measures during these difficult times.
