Kia Motors is set to unveil two compelling hybrid SUVs, the Sorento Hybrid and Seltos Hybrid, in 2026. With a strategic focus on enhancing its market share, Kia aims to capitalize on the growing demand for eco-friendly vehicles by offering robust yet fuel-efficient options.

Kia Sorento Hybrid: Power and Luxury

First up is the Sorento Hybrid, a premium 3-row D-SUV designed with both style and functionality in mind. This sleek vehicle features an impressive boxy stance, an iconic ‘Tiger Nose’ grille, large 19-inch alloy wheels, and T-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRLs). Under the hood, a powerful 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine pairs with an electric motor and small battery to provide excellent performance and around 20-22 kmpl mileage.

The luxury and comfort inside are just as impressive. The Sorento Hybrid is adorned with dual 12.3-inch screens, ventilated seats, a premium Bose sound system, and Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) including smart cruise control and lane keep assist. Other notable features include a panoramic sunroof, multi-zone climate control, and the option for all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive.

Kia Seltos Hybrid: Dynamic and Economical

Following closely is the Seltos Hybrid, tailored to complement Kia’s lineup by providing a robust yet stylish alternative. This SUV features similar design elements to its predecessor but with a striking HEV badge and slightly different alloy wheels. The heart of this model lies in its hybrid powertrain, which works synergistically with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine to achieve impressive city fuel economy: around 25-28 kmpl.

Featuring premium safety features like Level 2 ADAS and a user-friendly interface, the Seltos Hybrid is poised to revolutionize the mid-size SUV segment while maintaining luxury elements such as ventilated seats and a modern interior layout. Its powerful option for all-wheel drive adds versatility to its capabilities.

The timing of the launch marks an exciting transition in the automotive industry, offering high-end customers a choice between diesel engine power and petrol engine refinement with enhanced fuel efficiency. The Sorento Hybrid is expected by year-end 2026 while the Seltos Hybrid will be available in early 2027.
