Andhra Pradesh has emerged as a pioneering lighthouse state in the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for healthcare, marking its commitment to advanced medical services through initiatives like Med Tech Challenge. Speaking at the valedictory session of the "Health System – AI-based Services" conference in Mangalagiri, Satya Kumar Yadav, the health minister, highlighted how AI can deliver more accurate diagnostic results and reduce costs, potentially leading to faster patient recovery.

Yadav underscored that AI could significantly address ten major non-communicable diseases in the region. He emphasized leveraging emerging technologies across sectors as part of the goals for Viksit Bharat and Viksit Andhra Pradesh. The minister noted that 18 startups had already provided healthcare services through innovative equipment and AI-enabled systems within hospitals under the Med Tech Challenge pilot project.

Cost Savings and Quality Services

The use of AI, as illustrated by award-winning startup Sorcit Technologies in AI-powered diagnostics, can bring about substantial cost reductions. Other innovations include the portable Point-of-Care Devices from Remido Innovative Solutions, smart monitoring technologies offered by CareNX Innovations, and remote patient monitoring solutions from Rejuawin Medicare India.

The state government's efforts to enhance healthcare infrastructure have yielded positive outcomes, with a 20% increase in outpatient services. Additionally, ABHA registrations in Andhra Pradesh currently rank the state first in the country. This initiative not only supports the financial well-being of families but also aims to improve overall quality of life.
